What is Faceted Navigation?

Faceted navigation is the set of filters on a category or search page — such as size, colour, fabric and length — that lets shoppers narrow a product list by its attributes.

Why it matters

Filters only work as well as the data behind them. A product without a recorded fabric or length simply disappears when a shopper applies that filter.

For SEO, faceted pages can also target specific searches ("black midi dresses") when they are well structured.
