What is a Ghost Mannequin?
Ghost mannequin (or invisible mannequin) photography shows a garment in a three-dimensional, worn shape with the mannequin removed in post-production, so it appears to be worn by an invisible body.
Why it matters
The technique photographs a garment on a mannequin, then edits out the mannequin — often combining several shots to show the inside of the neckline. It gives more shape than a flat-lay while keeping the focus on the product.
It is common on marketplaces and department-store sites, but each image needs careful retouching.
