What is On-Model Photography?

On-model photography is product imagery in which a garment or accessory is photographed being worn by a model, rather than laid flat or displayed on a mannequin.

Why it matters

On-model images show what flat product shots cannot: how a garment fits, drapes and moves on a body, how long it runs, and how it might be styled. For fashion, they are usually the images that most influence whether a shopper buys.

Traditionally, on-model photography requires a studio, a photographer, models and styling for every product and colourway, which is why many catalogs reserve it for their bestsellers.

How Pixigen helps

Pixigen generates on-model images from a single flat-lay, hanger or mannequin photo, as a three-shot gallery — so every product can have them.
